Generation Green Expo: June 26th and 27th, 2010!

Beginning June 26th and 27th, 2010 Home 1st will be bringing to the San Jose Convention Center the first of many nation wide Generation Green Expos.  These Expos will help educate the community to the available environmental products and programs in the United States.  Both individuals and companies will be invited to attend to learn all there is to know about how to convert their homes and business to be green.  All manufactures, vendors, organization and programs displayed at the Generation Green Expos are United States owned and operated. 

The Expo will feature U.S.-based companies, projects, suppliers with vendors representing products and services in the home, work, transportation, lifestyle, and entertainment categories. While other green expos feature only products for the home, or are limited to a small geographic area, Generation Green Expo would be a nationally rolled-out green expo covering the full range of different industry sectors.

Generation Green Expo will have educational speakers and seminars, as well as booths for vendors to showcase their products. By cleaning up our environment using US providers, we will not only have a safer, cleaner and habitable place to live in, but it will also be a stronger more independent Nation for our future generations.

The Expo is geared not only to the public and other vendors, but will help build relationships with vendors and Home 1st supporters for bigger initiatives in the future. The Housing Demonstration Project is the first of this type of collaborative venture, but we envision other demonstration projects in the area of transportation and alternative fuels. These kinds of projects will gain recognition and support through the Expo.

Home 1st is approaching our Generation Green Expos as a National education program, and will focusing on one region at a time. We will be starting in the Western United States.  Our Generation Green Expos will be held in major cities within this region, and then expanding into the Eastern region in the near future.

When we opened the doors of our first warehourse store in 1998 there were no balloons, confetti, or grand opening ceremonies.  In fact, there were no customers that December morning in San Francisco, just a little fog rolling atop the Bay.  But word spread quickly that there was a new kid on the outskirts of town selling performance sports gear at outlet prices and offering great service, to boot.
